Cheesecake Crescent Rolls combine creamy, tangy cheesecake filling with flaky, buttery crescent roll dough for a quick and delicious dessert or breakfast treat. Ready in just 25 minutes, these sweet rolls are perfect for gatherings or a comforting homemade indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain.
  3. Unroll Dough: Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate it into its triangle-shaped sections following the perforations.
  4. Add Filling: Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle, spreading it slightly but leaving edges clear for rolling.
  5. Roll Up: Starting from the wide end, gently roll the dough toward the narrow tip, enclosing the filling completely. Place each rolled crescent onto the prepared baking sheet with the point underneath to hold its shape.
  6. Brush and Sprinkle: Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter for a golden finish, and if desired, sprinkle a light dusting of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  7. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top.
  8. Cool and Dust: Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly on a wire rack. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar for a sweet, decorative finish.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • If you prefer a less sweet treat, reduce the granulated sugar to 1/3 cup.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed warm but can also be served at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in a microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a warm oven to regain softness.
