Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie works great)
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (adjust for spice level)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup ranch dressing

Decorations

  • 68 slices white cheese (for ghosts)
  • Black decorating gel or mini olives for eyes

Instructions

  1. Coat the Chicken: In a large bowl, toss the shredded chicken thoroughly with the buffalo sauce until all pieces are evenly coated, ensuring every bite is flavorful.
  2. Prepare the Base: Soften the cream cheese by microwaving for 15–20 seconds if needed, then spread it evenly in the bottom of your baking dish to create a creamy layer.
  3. Layer the Dip: Spoon the buffalo sauced chicken mixture over the cream cheese layer and smooth it out evenly. Drizzle the ranch dressing over the top for added flavor and creaminess.
  4. Create Ghosts: Use a ghost-shaped cookie cutter to cut ghost shapes out of the white cheese slices. Arrange these cheese ghosts evenly on top of the dip to add the Halloween theme.
  5. Bake the Dip: Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the cheese ghosts start to melt slightly.
  6. Add Eyes and Serve: Once removed from the oven, use black decorating gel or place mini olive pieces to dot each ghost with eyes, bringing them to life. Serve the dip warm with your choice of chips, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

  • Adjust buffalo sauce quantity to make the dip milder or spicier according to your preference.
  • Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut, but you can also cook and shred chicken breasts or thighs.
  • For a smoother dip, mix mozzarella cheese into the chicken mixture before layering.
  • Use gluten-free chips or veggies for dipping to make this recipe gluten-free.
  • Keep an eye on the cheese ghosts while baking to avoid excessive melting.
