Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Layers

  • 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 ⅓ cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Gather Ingredients: Collect all the ingredients and place them in separate bowls for easy assembly.
  2. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), or 325°F (165°C) if using a glass baking dish. Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the mixture is fully combined and resembles wet sand. Press this mixture firmly and evenly onto the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust layer.
  4. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour the entire can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk in an even layer over the graham cracker crust, ensuring full coverage.
  5. Layer Toppings: Sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips evenly over the sweetened condensed milk layer, followed by spreading the flaked coconut and chopped nuts evenly on top.
  6. Press Toppings: Use the back of a fork to gently but firmly press down all the toppings so that they stick together and will bake into the bar uniformly.
  7. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned and the bars appear set.
  8. Cool and Cut: Remove the baked bars from the oven and allow them to cool completely in the dish to ensure easy cutting. Once cooled, cut into 36 bars or diamond-shaped pieces.

Notes

  • Use a metal baking pan for best results as it allows even baking, but if using glass, reduce oven temperature to 325°F to avoid overbrowning.
  • Chopped nuts can be substituted with your favorite nuts or omitted for a nut-free version.
  • Pressing the toppings down before baking helps keep the layers intact.
  • Make sure bars are completely cooled before slicing to get clean edges.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
