Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)

Butter Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butter Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the unsalted butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and all ingredients are incorporated. Set the sauce aside for later use.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. Deglaze the Pan: In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. This will add flavor to the sauce.
  4. Add the Butter Sauce: Stir the prepared butter sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken broth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sauce is melted, smooth, and well combined.
  5. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, coating them evenly with the butter sauce. Let them simmer together for 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the chopped parsley over the chicken and sauce as a fresh garnish. Serve the dish hot, ideally with your choice of sides like vegetables or rice.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
  • The recipe is naturally gluten-free making it suitable for gluten-sensitive diets.
  • Adjust honey quantity for a sweeter or less sweet sauce.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a smoky flavor boost, try adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked chipotle powder.
  • To keep the dish dairy-free, substitute butter with a plant-based butter alternative.
